Each year, the Townsend Tree Board and Rotary Club of Townsend members, light up over 40 trees in the business district for the Holidays.
In addition, the Rotary Club, under the historic leadership of Phillip Knaub with the help of Vigilante Electric and Chamber of Commerce volunteers, set up the lighted display at what has become known as “Phil’s Phorest” on the corner of Broadway and Front Street. Grade school students also decorate the trees with handmade ornaments.
