Her ranching background and community connections have been integral to her role in MT43News as a reporter, ad sales person and secretary of the board.

Vic Sample: MT43 News Treasurer

Vic Sample is a native Montana who grew up in Townsend. He loves Townsend and Broadwater County and is proud to be part of the MT43 News Team covering local news, events and people.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Washington, Vic spent the last 50 years designing, developing and implementing software. He moved back to Townsend after he retired and became involved in a number of County and private boards.  He likes to think he is ungainfully employed.

When it was decided that Broadwater County needed a fair and unbiased community newspaper to provide a voice for Broadwater County, Vic was asked to become the MT43 News Treasurer and IT person. It has been quite a journey and VIc has loved every bit of it.

Linda Huth: MT43 News Board Member and Copy Editor

I was born and raised in Townsend as were my parents; they were born in the area and both were raised in the area.  I attended local schools and after graduating from high school went to Seattle to see the world. After about three years, I moved back to Townsend.  I left several time, but always seemed to come home.

Not too many years after that I went to work for the Farm Service Agency on a part time basis.  When a full time position opened in the Helena office, I applied for and got the job and shortly after that, moved to Helena, where I lived for several years.

In 1996 I became reacquainted with and married Ernie Forrey and again, moved back to Townsend, where I have been ever since.

After 30 plus years with Farm Service Agency, I retired.  I then did what everyone who retires does, I cleaned the house and the yard and I gardened and I crafted and I organized everything I could get a hold of.  In 2011 I applied for and got the job as curator of the Broadwater County Museum.  I thought I would try the job for a few years, but I really like the work and I am still there!

I am a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Canton Woman’s Club, Circle 100, the Historical Society and a member of the board of directors of MT43.  I enjoy gardening, reading, crafting, researching history and spending time with family and friends.

Sarah Tallwhiteman: MT43 News Layout Editor and Ad Editor

Sarah was born and raised in Montana, spending a lot of time playing in the mountains.

She spent a short stay in New Mexico and a long stay in Utah before moving back to the state she loves to call home, Montana.

When she moved back to Montana she worked on an Electronic Technician degree in Missoula but this path was interrupted when one of her small children had a seizure. She switched directions for her family's health and became a Health Coach, Holistic Cook, Master Herbalist and Intuitive Healer as well as other certifications related to natural health and living.

She and her children moved to Broadwater County in 2020 and love the pace and friendliness of a smaller town.

She was offered a part-time Office Management job at MT 43 News in the summer of 2022. Having no prior training in the newspaper business or advertisement, she progressed to a full-time Ad Designer and Layout Editor, thanks to kindness and dedication from friends of MT 43 News and its Board.

Sarah is grateful for the support working at MT 43 News offers for her children and herself.
