I was born and raised in Townsend as were my parents; they were born in the area and both were raised in the area. I attended local schools and after graduating from high school went to Seattle to see the world. After about three years, I moved back to Townsend. I left several time, but always seemed to come home.
Not too many years after that I went to work for the Farm Service Agency on a part time basis. When a full time position opened in the Helena office, I applied for and got the job and shortly after that, moved to Helena, where I lived for several years.
In 1996 I became reacquainted with and married Ernie Forrey and again, moved back to Townsend, where I have been ever since.
After 30 plus years with Farm Service Agency, I retired. I then did what everyone who retires does, I cleaned the house and the yard and I gardened and I crafted and I organized everything I could get a hold of. In 2011 I applied for and got the job as curator of the Broadwater County Museum. I thought I would try the job for a few years, but I really like the work and I am still there!
I am a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Canton Woman’s Club, Circle 100, the Historical Society and a member of the board of directors of MT43. I enjoy gardening, reading, crafting, researching history and spending time with family and friends.
