The criminal docket in Judge Christopher Abbott’s district court for Friday, June 28, 2024, is as follows:

Ashley Ann Collins received a three-year deferred sentence for criminal possession of methamphetamine. A charge of child endangerment was waived. Collins’ attorney told the court she is currently in treatment for substance abuse and has taken additional steps to remove herself and her children from the circumstances which led to the charges. Abbot also waived all but $80 in fees and costs related to the case.

Justin Raymond Hemderson was sentenced to 30 days in jail, six years supervised probation and restitution totaling $146,438 plus a 10 percent administration fee on 13 misdemeanor and felony charges of theft and fraud. He will also serve six years probation. He was remanded to the Broadwater County Detention Center to begin serving his 30 days immediately.

Kyle A. Mostad had a status hearing on findings that he violated a previous agreement on a criminal endangerment charge. Broadwater County Attorney Cory Swanson indicated he and the defense are awaiting a decision in a federal case, expected next week, before moving forward. A status hearing was set for July 26.

Gabriel Martin Puga received a continuance of an evidentiary hearing on criminal charges for one month, awaiting the resolution of misdemeanor charges in Townsend City Court. The evidentiary hearing will be held July 26. Puga is currently in custody in the Broadwater County Detention Center.

Brian Alan Whittecar was sentenced to 13 months in Montana Department of Corrections custody and completion of the WATCH chemical dependency program for Driving Under the Influence - fourth offense. He received an additional five year suspended sentence and fine of $3,500, as well as court costs and surcharges. He was remanded into custody following sentencing.
