On December 11th and 12th, the Rotary Club of Townsend and Broadwater Area Lion's Club sponsored a Seniors Holiday Dinner with all the trimmings dinner at the Townsend Senior Center followed by a tour of the Holiday lights throughout town. Townsend School District #1, and Billings Clinic Broadwater, and Silver Springs Assisted Living donate the used of their buses to tour the Seniors around town. About 96 people were served meals over the two-day event: a record number! . Rotarians provided a bag of home-baked Holiday cookies for each Senior. After the dinner of ham, roast turkey, dressing, potatoes and vegetables the Seniors boarded the Townsend School Activities bus, driven by Billings Clinic CEO Justin Tiffany, for a tour of the Christmas light displays in Townsend. The Rotary youth club, the Interact Club, and Broadwater County High School National Honor Society students helped serve the meals. The Interact Club made personal greeting cards for each senior attending. For those shut-ins that could not make the dinner, the Clubs purchased and give away poinsettias. Again, a record number of poinsettias were delivered. Rotary and the Lions would like to thank the staff at the Senior Center for another excellent meal for the seniors.
