Judge Kathy Seeley presided over the following cases. County Attorney Kevin Bratcher brought the charges. The defense attorney Qasim Abdul-Baki, from the Office of Public Defenders, represented the defendants in all cases.
Michael Paul Taylor- Petition to Revoke hearing was held. Mr. Taylor denied all allegations with the Evidentiary Hearing set to be held on August 21, 2026.
Andrew Robert Anderson- Arraignment for his case was held. Mr. Anderson pleaded not Guilty to 2 counts of incest. The following dates were provided by the court for his upcoming hearings, Omnibus Memorandum must be filed no later than June 12, 2026, Pretrial hearing September 11,2026 and Jury Trial October 5, 2026. The Court ordered that Mr. Anderson sign a waiver of extradition and go to the Broadwater County Jail for him to be booked and released before heading back to California.
Christopher Ballanger-Brooks- Initial Appearance and Arraignment. Mr. Ballanger-Brooks was charged with Assault on Peace Officer/Judicial Officer, and 2 counts of Criminal Mischief. Mr. Ballanger-Brooks pleaded Not Guilty to the charges. The following dates were set by the Court, Omnibus memorandum must be filed no later than June 19, 2026, Pretrial hearing October 16, 2026, and the Jury Trial November 16, 2026.
Douglas James Knight- Petition to Revoke hearing was held. Mr. Knight denied the allegations. An Evidentiary hearing is scheduled for August 7, 2026. Mr. Knight was released from jail. Mr. Knight must immediately upon release contact his Probation and Parole officer and continue to follow all previous conditions in place.
Jacob Huotari- Petition to Revoke, Bail Modification, and Admit/Deny Hearing- Mr. Huotari denied all allegations against him. An Evidentiary Hearing is scheduled for July 17, 2026. The Court lowered his bond to $20,000. Upon bond payment Mr. Huotari must remain in compliance and follow all previous conditions in place.
Dwight Robert Murdough- Initial and Arraignment Hearings. Mr. Murdough was charged with 2 counts of Criminal Possession of Drugs with Intent to Distribute, Criminal Possession of Dangerous Drugs, and Possession of Stolen Firearm. Mr. Murdough pleaded not guilty to the charges. The Court set the following hearing schedule, Omnibus Memorandum, June 19, 2026, Pretrial conference, October 16, 2026, and Jury Trial, November 16, 2026.
