BHS Volleyball Teams Undefeated In Conference Play

On Thursday, September 25th, the Lone Peak Big Horns C squad team travelled to Townsend to take on the Lady Bulldogs. They played a 5-set match, ending in a Bulldog Victory.
The Bulldogs lost the first set 22-25, won the second 25-18, lost the third 6-15, won the fourth 15-10, and won the final set 17-15. In this exciting match, Avery White and Ella Toney led the team with 3 assists each. Brinley Eggers led the team with one block. As for digs, Kymber McCartney led the team with 9, followed by Avery White, who had 6. Brinley Eggers and McKenna Weaver led the team in kills with 3 and 2, respectively. Ells Toney led the team in aces with 5, and Avery White had 3.
On Friday, September 26th, the Bulldogs' 8th grade, Junior Varsity and Varsity teams travelled to Gardiner to play the Bruins. The 8th graders ended with a win against the Bruins.
The Junior varsity Bulldogs came out with a win, 25-21, 25-21, and 15-12. Louie Parr led the team in assists with 16, and Tevyn Newman had 4. Sophia Lamb had 4 blocks, Claire Swanson had 3, and Louie Parr had one. Tevyn Newman led the Bulldogs in kills with 9, followed by Sophia Lamb with 7, and Savannah Paulsen with 4. Janeth Garcia and Savannah Paulsen both led the team with 9 digs, followed by Violet Collins and Kinsley Heggen, who each had 8. Violet Collins led the team with 3 aces.
The Varsity game ended in a win for the Bulldogs: 25-15, 22-25, 25-20, and 25-15. Holly Newman led the team in assists, tallying 23, and Bryleigh Erickson followed with 20. Aspen Slyker and Bryleigh Erickson led the team with 3 blocks each, and Harper Wolfgram and Jazel Ragen each had 2. Emmalin Fischer led the team with 19 digs. Kaitlyn Noyes led the team with 14 kills, and Bryleigh Erickson followed with 12. Violet Collins and Kaitlyn Noyes both had 2 aces.
The Bulldogs headed to Manhattan the next day. This was a conference match for the Bulldogs. They ended with a program sweep.
The C squad game ended in a Bulldog win in five sets. The scores were 20-25, 25-29, 10-15,15-9, and 15-13 in the fifth. Avery White led the team with 4 aces, and Brinley Eggers, Kymber McCartney, and Alex Bakken each had 3. Brinley Eggers also tallied one block. Avery White had 6 kills, followed by Brinley Eggers, who had 4, and Alex Bakken, who had 3. Ella Toney tallied 10 assists, and Avery White got 5. Kymber McCartney led the team with 17 digs, followed by Avery White with 12, and Ella Toney with 9.
The Junior Varsity team won their game 25-16, 25-9, and 15-10. Tevyn Newman and Savannah Paulsen both had 4 aces, leading the team. Savannah Paulsen led the Bulldogs with 2 blocks, and Louie Parr and Sophia Lamb had one block. Tevyn Newman and Sophia Lamb had 8 kills each, and Louie Parr had 4. Gracie Ragen led the team with 15 assists, and Tevyn Newman had 9. Kinsley Heggen led the team with 10 digs, and Gracelyn Ragen had 8. The Junior Varsity team has played 6 games and has won 5 of them.
The Varsity team played their fifth conference game, and after beating Manhattan, has proved undefeated in conference play so far, going 5-0. They won the match 25-6, 25-8, and 25-16. Violet Collins, Bryleigh Erickson, Aspen Slyker, and Kaitlyn Noyes all had 2 aces. Bryleigh Erickson led the team with 3 blocks, followed by Harper Wolfgram and Jazel Ragen, who had 2. Kaitlyn Noyes led the team with 12 kills, and Holly Newman followed with 7. Bryleigh Erickson had 14 assists, and Holly Newman had 12. As for digs, Emmalin Fischer and Aspen Slyker both led the team with 6.
The next game for the Bulldogs is their Homecoming game on October 2nd. They play the Joliet Jayhawks.
I know that some people don’t know much about volleyball, so I am going to explain some terms that many people might not know. These are mostly words used when I am reporting the stats after the game.
