Mayor Vicky Rauser and other town folk greeted the voyagers as they disembarked from their jeeps, trucks, buses, and even a motorcycle or two.
About 35 historic military vehicles driven by Association members have traveled in convoy along the route of the Lewis and Clark Expedition this month. Every two years, the Association plans a long convoy trip somewhere around the country, including to Alaska, following significant historical routes, such as this one.
Kids, military and history buffs enjoyed the afternoon visiting with the MVPA members, listening to their stories and seeing the various vehicles. For more information about the MVPA, visit their website mvpa.org or follow their progress on Facebook at MVPA Historic Convoys.
