Broadwater 4-H Members Take Part in Montana 4-H Congress

Broadwater County 4-H was proudly represented at the 2026 Montana 4-H Congress, which was held on July 7th-10th in Bozeman. Seven outstanding 4-H members attended this year, representing the county proudly was Spencer Braaten, Kay Crusch, Kaitlyn Noyes, Autumn Henke, MaKenzie Truesdell, Kathryn Six, and Karolyn Schmaus.
Montana 4-H Congress is a yearly conference that brings together youth from across the state to compete in contests, strengthen leadership skills, and build lifelong friendships. Broadwater County is proud of each one of our members as they displayed professionalism and leadership growth at Congress.
Among the attending members, our two Broadwater County 4-H ambassadors were present: Kaitlyn Noyes and MaKenzie Truesdell. MaKenzie Truesdell also attended Pre-Congress along with Autumn Henke, both displaying a dedicated commitment to serving. Pre-Congress is designed for 4-H members to prepare for Congress, plan sections of the event and serves as a great learning opportunity for youth. MaKenzie also served on the selection committee to select the next Montana 4-H Ambassador team.
Two youth also participated in state contests. Spencer Braaten competed in livestock judging and earned eighth place as an individual. Kaitlyn Noyes earned the title of State Champion in Career Communications, qualifying her to represent Montana at the National 4-H Congress in Atlanta this fall. In addition to winning the state contest, Kaitlyn was also awarded the Trailwest Bank Leadership scholarship! Kaitlyn carried on the family tradition of success as her brother placed 2nd in public speaking in a previous year.
Congratulations to all of this year's delegates for their hard work, commitment, and accomplishments. Best wishes to Kaitlyn as she represents Broadwater County and Montana at the National 4-H Congress this fall.
