1903
“Toston Topics”
Among those from Radersburg who attended the dance here Friday night were Misses Katie Hossfeld, Maude and Ella Pennell and Belle Berg and Messrs. George, Dick and Joe Hossfeld, Anderson and Willie Blacker, Charlie Pennell, Warren Doughty, and Frank Williams.
Misses Dora Amwell and Carrie Hollaway in company with Dan McLean and Harry Record, all of Townsend, spent Sunday fishing at the Big Springs. Mr. Record took the west bound train for Missoula.
Lee Rader of Radersburg stepped off the east bound train from Helena Sunday evening.
“Radersburg Items”
Doc McCormick and Shelly McKay were in Radersburg last Thursday.
Dan McLean and Harry Record were in Radersburg Tuesday, returning the same day.
The boys of Radersburg will give a social dance Saturday night until 12 m. Everyone come.
Willie Kitto drove to Townsend Wednesday for a load of wood.
The storm Monday caused quite an excitement in our little burg. Just as the rain ceased, a great stream of water came roaring and crashing down the gulch just above town, but fortunately for the levee, which was built last summer, it was kept from flooding the town. However, it did quite a little damage to the ditches and flumes above town.

“Local News”
Huckleberriers are busy these days filling their buckets with the luscious mountain berries which are quite bountiful in different places this year. It seems that where the late April snow in April last spring fell and protected the tender huckleberry bush against the May freezes, the berries are plentiful but in other localities there is no fruit this year.
Mr. and Mrs. W.G. Ragen, Chas. B. Doggett, Miss Zeta Zimmerman and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. J. Gaab departed on Wednesday for a trip to the Yellowstone Park. They passed through Bozeman and enjoyed a few hours of the Roundup.
P. W. Risk of Hassel was in Townsend Monday on business.
Geo Munding is driving a new Buick Sedan purchased from Jas. Ward of the Townsend Garage.
Big Barn Dance at Ragen’s Barn August 8th. Everybody invited. Come out and have a good time. Given by the Catholic ladies.

“Birthday Party”
Debbie Holland, charming little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C.T. Holland, was three years old on the first day of August and the hot summer day was just right for a circus. Accordingly, her birthday anniversary was observed by inviting her neighborhood friends for a play on the lawn and at refreshment time a circus. Those who helped Debbie and her sister, Cindy, in the fun of the circus tent, animal and funny book favors were Laurie and Lisa Lanning, Terry and Denney DeBorde, Lance and Scott Davis, Kathy Manlove, Joanne Williams and Susie, and Judie Simons.
“Local News”
Word from Dr. and Mrs. Frank P. Nash and family informs us of their vacation travels and intend to take in a big league game between the Cardinals and the Dodgers. Everything sounded fine, but the temperature, which was 102.
Sgt. and Mrs. Mike Gabisch are here for a few days from Ogden, Utah.
Dr. P.A. Ragen left by plane Monday for San Antonio, Texas, where he will be stationed in the medical corps of the U.S. Army. He stopped en route for an overnight visit with Mr. and Mrs. Robert McCarthy in Denver. On the eve of his departure, he was complimented by a dinner party at the home of his parents with the following guests: his two brothers and their wives, Mr. and Mrs. James Ragen and Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Ragen, Miss Sheila McCarthy, Miss Mary Kieckbusch, and Dick Davey.
Mrs. Wm. McElwee accompanied a group of young girls to Camp Watanopa on Seeley Lake Sunday. The five entering camp for the first time are Joan Jeffries, Mardee McElwee, Beth Thompson, Adalee Olsen, and Barbara Wallace.

“Toston Briefs”
Mr. and Mrs. Don Lewis and family accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Dick Lukes and family to McGee Ranger Station in Idaho, where they visited with Mr. and Mrs. Dave Fischer and family.
Trish Berberet spent last week in Helena attending the Stampede and fair and visiting her cousin, Clarice, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Austin.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Plummer and family attended the Stampede in Helena Saturday night.
Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Noyd, Fred and Jeff were visitors Sunday evening of Mr. and Byron Johnson and family.
“Crow Creek News”
Jeff Hinch, Mrs. Abe Fandrich, and Abe of Townsend accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Ray Horne and family and Dirk Reister to Butte to visit Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Reister Sunday.
Sunday, Mrs. Myn Doughty of Radersburg, Leonard Lambott of Rudyard, Miss Mary Kitto of Livingston, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Turman, Merle and Dixie, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Kitto and family, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Kitto, Miss Pearl Kitto, and Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Kitto and family enjoyed a pot-luck lawn dinner at the Forrest Kitto home.
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Kimpton attended the Stampede in Helena Saturday.
Mrs. Carl Kolberg and her daughter, Mrs. Carlon Miller, spent Sunday and Monday at the Flathead picking cherries.
