Judge Christopher Abbott presided over the following cases. County Attorney Kevin Bratcher brought the charges. The defense attorney Qasim Abdul-Baki, appointed Public Defender, acted as attorney for the cases.
Ian Jacob Sax Ballard- Defendant appeared for his Initial Hearing, in which he has the charges of Strangulation Partner Family Member Assault and Partner Family Member Assault. The defendant was ready to proceed to Arraignment and a Not Guilty was entered on the charges.
Bradley James Wright- The Initial hearing on the Petition to revoke was held. There were several violations reported, Criminal Possession of Dangerous drugs, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Stop sign violation, and No insurance, Residence eviction and Possession of a weapon (handgun). An Evidentiary Hearing is scheduled for September 4, 2026.
LaDawn Inez Williams- Defendant appeared for her Initial Hearing for Assault with a weapon. The Defendant was ready to proceed to Arraignment and a Not Guilty was entered on the charges.
Jordon Jamor King- This was the time for the Arraignment on the Charge of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol 4th. A Not Guilty was entered and dates were set.
Michelle Leigh McCauley- The defendant along with her attorney, Steve Scott, appeared for a Bond Modification Hearing. The Court reduced bond from $500,000 to $250,000.
Jack Kenneth White- This was the time scheduled for the Sentencing for the charges in the DC-25-06 case. Mr. White is sentenced to 10 years to the Department of Corrections with 7 years suspended and credit for time served totaling 18 months. The CTFS is applied to the remaining 3 years Jack must serve with DOC. The Court will recommend Jack be screened for pre-release. All previous conditions are imposed with some modifications, including that the defendant cannot have contact with the victims or their family, must remain at least 2000 feet from them and may not be in Broadwater County with the exception of driving on HWY 12 and 287, staying between the fog lines, and he must give advance notice if he is coming to Broadwater County. Restitution in the amount of $17,837.00 was ordered.
