The driver of a red Chevrolet SUV was hurt in a single-car accident on Highway 297/12 near Lake View Manor Thursday, June 25. The Montana Highway Patrol filed this report:

“On June 25, just after 9:45 a.m., troopers responded to a call on US-12 near mile marker 72 between Townsend and Helena. Vehicle 1, a Chevrolet, was driving east on US-12 approaching the intersection with Manor Drive when a silver car turned onto US-12 from Manor Drive in front of the Chevrolet. The driver of the Chevrolet applied the brakes in an attempt to avoid a collision. The driver of the Chevrolet then swerved off the road to the right and re-entered the road, where it overturned on the roadway.

The driver of the Chevrolet was not wearing their seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. They were transported by EMS to the Broadwater County hospital and then flown by life flight to Billings for further treatment with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The silver car was not on scene when troopers arrived. However, with the help of witnesses and the Broadwater County Sheriff’s Office, the vehicle and driver have been located. The investigation is ongoing.”
