The Rotary Club of Townsend awarded five scholarships worth a total of $10,000 to some of our best community service-oriented students for successfully achieving academic excellence and exemplifying, by their conduct and service in the community, the highest ideals of Rotary.
The Frank Holloway Scholarship of $2,500 went to Kaitlyn Noyes (shown with two certificates because she also won the specific Hugh van Swearingen Journalism Scholarship of $2,000). The Holling-White Scholarship of $2,000 was awarded to Harper Wolfgram. The Chris Wright [Trade School] Scholarship of $2,000 went to Spencer Braaten. The Bill Kearns Scholarship of $2,000 went to Kenzie Knaub and the Mel Potruff Scholarship of $1,500 to Taylor Cartwright. CONGRATULATIONS to all of you!
We want to thank all of the applicants for their time and effort in applying for these scholarships, as they are all outstanding students and have been involved in so many activities in their school and our community, that the selections for the winners were tough for the board. Congratulations and best wishes to our senior high school graduates as they pursue the next chapter of their lives!
