Family of Barbara Gunn

Barbara Gunn 12/28/1933 - 6/7/2026

It’s with heavy hearts that our family announces the passing of our beloved Grandma and Mother, Barbara Gunn. Born to John Mullen and Mildred Googh in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada, on December 28th, 1933, she was the youngest of eleven older brothers and sisters.

Barbara married Robert Barney Gunn and had her son Robert (Bob) Alan in Cornwall before immigrating to California in 1959, where her daughter Brenda was born. Barbara worked as a Secretary and Office Manager for several prominent companies, including Amex Aluminum, Bank of Stockton, Diamond Walnut and City of Stockton, California. She was able to retire in her early 60’s and focus almost entirely on her family, friends and travel.

Family was the center of Barbara’s world. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother whose greatest joy came from spending time with those she loved. Blessed with two children, seven grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren, she built a legacy of love that will continue for generations. She dedicated countless hours volunteering in schools, libraries, and churches, always looking for ways to help others. Whether she was bowling, dancing, traveling, writing letters to family, playing countless rounds of Yahtzee, or cheering on her grandchildren, she approached life with warmth, energy and a generous spirit. She was deeply loved by her family and her memory will be treasured forever.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, all of her eleven siblings, and her husband Robert. She is survived by son Bob (Robert) Gunn and his wife Sandi, daughter Brenda Green and her husband Huston, grandchildren Tara, Myra (Nick), Bobbi, Rachel, Chelsea (Nick), K.C. (Ja Neen) and Kammah (Jason), great grandchildren Jaden (Malachi), Wayne (Destiny), Nathaniel (Autumn), Riley, Gabriel, Parker, Alexandra, Kalea, Coleman, Phoebe, Lola, Jackson, Harper, Elijah, Genevieve, Lucci, Paxton and Cayden.

Barbara was truly one of a kind and she will be deeply missed. Her memory will forever be a blessing.
