Last week, the Rocky Mountain Rough Hands 4H Club gathered to do a spring community service project at the Townsend Airport. They were able to help clean up the grounds, weed flower beds, plant flowers and bushes, and install some flower bed edging.

The project came at a great time as preparations are in full force for the Broadwater County Fly-In and Dedication scheduled for June 13, 2026. The Rocky Mountain Rough Hands 4H Club will be serving a pancake breakfast from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. as a fundraiser for fair apparel and continued community support.

There will be a dedication ceremony at 10 am, followed by a skydive drop and a candy drop for kids. Numerous static displays of airplanes, helicopters, and emergency equipment will be on site. Many booths will be set up as well, supporting the aviation industry and the local community of Townsend. This is a free admission event and a great opportunity to get out and see the newly paved runway and ramp expansion.
