Band Members Hold Unique Fundraiser

With an ever-growing membership, Broadwater High School band club held a drum fundraiser last week to purchase the equipment needed for the marching band, such as matching uniforms. Club members repurposed old and beaten-down drums that have been sitting in closets for years, turning them into beautiful flowerpots of various sizes and colors filled with donated flowers. Band members greatly appreciated the students and the public who bought a decorated drum. The funds will go toward outfitting the marching band during the upcoming football season.

The Broadwater High School Band is full of dedicated students. They are all dedicated to music and school and look forward to performing in different types of situations. Whether through rain or sun, night or morning, the Broadwater Band students are there, waiting to support one another and support their school. With an ever-growing band, these students are always looking for recruits to join the Pep-Band or the Band. The Pep-Band plays during the Fall and Winter seasons, and in the Spring prepares for its own entries in musical festivals which take place throughout Montana.

Over the course of the years, Pep-Band had few students who participated in it, with only a few more in the regular band. With an Influx of new students who want to expand their view on music, both the bands have grown and are expecting continuous growth over the next few years. Mrs. Karen Walton, the Conductor of the high school bands, has decided to make next fall the first time that Townsend has a marching band. This is an exciting prospect for members, and all the students are willing to put their time into learning the many drills. She is currently choosing a person to be the Drum Major from within the Pep-Band.

The Broadwater High School Band has such a promising future of growing and entertaining many fans of music and different sports seasons. These students really work hard to make sure that they have good grades and excel in learning music. They have plenty of time to laugh and plenty of time to hold each other accountable to learn music. They are the “men behind the curtain” supporting each other and their beloved school.
