PTA Members Celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week

Teacher Appreciation Week at Townsend School was totally rad this year as the PTA hosted a week full of ’90s-themed fun to celebrate the district’s teachers and staff.

The week kicked off Monday with “OMG Becky! Look at That Snack Cart!” as PTA members rolled a fully stocked snack cart through the halls, delivering treats and pick-me-ups directly to classrooms. Each teacher also received a special “All That” fanny pack filled with goodies and gifts to enjoy throughout the week.

On Tuesday, teachers were invited to the lounge for “When I Dip, You Dip, We Dip!” featuring a snack bar loaded with a variety of dips, chips, crackers, and fresh vegetables.

Wednesday’s theme, “Saved by the Bell,” included a PTA-sponsored assembly, giving teachers a short break while students enjoyed activities in the gym.

The celebration wrapped up Thursday with “As If! Dress-Up Day,” where teachers and staff came dressed in their best '90s-inspired outfits. A themed photo backdrop allowed staff members to snap fun photos together, and prizes were awarded for favorite costumes.

Throughout the week, the school’s refrigerators were stocked with donated beverages from Harrington Pepsi as part of the “Fresh Sips of Bel-Air” refreshment station.

Students also participated throughout the week with small acts of appreciation, including high-fives, wearing teachers’ favorite colors, and creating drawings and cards.

The Townsend PTA would like to thank all of the families, volunteers, donors, and community businesses who helped make the week possible. Most importantly, the PTA extends a heartfelt thank you to the teachers and staff whose dedication, patience, and care make a lasting difference in the lives of students every day.

Donations and small gestures of support continue to make a big impact in local classrooms.
