Bulldog Track Team Competes in 3 Different Meets

The Broadwater Bulldog track team got snowed out from the Gallatin Invite two weeks ago, but they certainly made up for it this past week with three separate meets.

First up was the Helena Small Schools Meet on Tuesday where the men tallied 48 points for 4th, while the ladies finished 5th with 16 points.

Next up was the JHS Invitational in Boulder, where both teams placed 2nd.

Finally, they traveled to Missoula for the Seely Swan Invitational, where our men finished fourth out of 29 teams with 43 points, and the ladies were fifth with 37 points.

Senior Trace Giomi had a standout week! He tallied his Personal Best (PB) in the shot put with a throw of 47’4.5” at the Small Schools meet. He followed that up with a PB throw of 147’5” with the discus at the SSHS meet. In the three meetings last week, he finished 1st, 2nd and 1st in both the shot put and discus!

Auto-qualifying for state track means meeting a specific, predetermined time, distance, or height standard in a sanctioned meet, allowing the athlete to bypass districts and divisionals. Trace Giomi auto-qualified in both shot put and discus with his efforts this week.

Kaitlyn Noyes added her season’s best of 34’ in the triple jump and is now qualified in all the jumps (long, triple, and high). Kyla Meissner logged back-to-back PBs in the 800 and is now qualified at all long distances (800, 1600, 3200).

Due to the high volume of events this week, the following list is limited to those who scored team points. If an athlete places in the top six of an event, they score team points. First place scores ten points, while subsequent finishes score eight, six, four, two and one point.
