Linda Huth

Broadwater County Museum Curator

On July 4, 1976, as part of the celebration of the 200th anniversary of the United States, the Broadwater County Museum was dedicated.

A museum for our county had been in the works for a long time, and thanks to several very dedicated people, it finally happened.

In observance of this milestone, the Board of Directors has been hard at work organizing a celebration. This celebration will take place Sunday, May 17, at 2:00 p.m. at the museum at 133 North Walnut Street.

Linda Huth has prepared a talk about the history of the museum. She is also going to talk about a World War II casualty, Robin Craig Pennington, and the history of him and his downed airplane. In addition, she has come up with some little-known stories about the happenings in our county. The program will prove to be quite interesting.

Linda has also redone some of the displays in the museum. We will be displaying Mildred Neild’s hats. Anyone who remembers Mildred remembers her hats!! Even if you don’t remember Mildred, it is well worth the visit!!

Please plan on joining us for this eventful afternoon. If you can’t make it on the 17th, plan to visit us during the summer season. We are open every day, except the 4th of July, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. from May 15th until September 15th. If you are a member of an organization that would like a tour of the museum, we are happy to host you.
