Dear Editor:
While waiting for a ferry to cross a river in Ireland last September, I talked to an elderly fisherman (he was about my age) who had lived in the U.S. for 25 years. We commiserated about the poor fishing and exchanged a few friendly comments about life in our two countries. As the ferry approached and I started to leave he made a point of telling me: “Trump is ruining your country.” I agreed.
Since then Trump has threatened to invade our NATO ally Greenland; blew dozens of boats out of International waters on grounds they were running drugs; kidnapped the president of a sovereign nation on grounds he was a drug lord and then pardoned the former president of another country who had been convicted in our courts of actually being a drug lord; started a war against Iran apparently at the behest of Netanahyu and against the advice of his vice-president and secretary of state and without consulting Congress - then asked them for $200 million to continue his war; posted a picture of himself as Jesus; insulted the Pope, and threatened genocide on the people of Iran if their leaders didn’t do what he wants.
He denies any obligation to consult with our NATO allies before attacking Iran but then gets angry because they won’t bail him out when Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz.
It is time we recognize our president is mentally unstable and not competent to hold the office.
