Obituary: Connie Lee Thomas

October 10, 1951 – October 22, 2025
Connie Lee (Glowaski) Thomas, formerly Clemons, passed away in her home of over 30 years in Toston, Montana, on October 22, 2025, just 12 days after her 74th birthday.
Despite recent health complications, Connie maintained her trademark smile and stayed true to her tradition of ending every conversation with, “I love you” or “I love you all.”
Connie was her children’s protector. She was always there to listen, encourage, and love them, and she was never more than a phone call away.
Connie had a cautious nature, a quality shaped by several attempts on her life while living in Seattle. This led to a time when she reported a suspicious note on her car in Belgrade, only to be relieved to discover it was a playful gesture from a cousin.
We remember her as a fierce advocate for animals, even the time she tried to rescue what turned out to be metal horse statues on a hillside. Another testament to her character was a heroic moment at age 14, when she carried her injured cousin down a hill and across a stream to safety.
She held her childhood memories close, especially those of picking raspberries with her grandpa. She often shared stories of him with her aunt Lois and, because of their similar sense of humor, Connie would tease that Lois must surely be her real mom.
Connie shared a beautiful bond with her granddaughter through flowers, rhubarb, and many life secrets. Her family holds many joyful memories of her, from playing 45s and teaching dance moves to the “Yummy Yummy Yummy” soundtrack, to her teasing stories about her early days of “untrained” babysitting.
Even in her final days, Connie’s spirit and humor remained intact. She joked about her hospital stay and her love for chocolates, maintaining a smile even while discussing her diagnosis. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. We invite you to hold your memories of Connie close and remember the love and joy she brought into our lives.
Connie is survived by her daughter, Dina (Tim) Sapp; son, Jason (Rose) Clemons; granddaughters, Tegra Tufts (Janelle Britz), Sammie Clemons, and Elizabeth Clemons; grandsons, Alex (Sarah) Clemons and Mason Clemons; great-grandchildren, Zaiden, Maxton, and Olivia Clemons; sister, Pat Glowaski; brothers, Edward Glowaski Jr., David (Scarlett) Svaleson, Chuck Wilberg, and Cody Wilberg; aunt, Charlotte (Mervin) Lefferts; and many cousins, nephews, and nieces.
