April 3, 2026, Judge Mike Menahan

ADC-26-14 Anthony John Chovanak- Initial Appearance. The Defendant was charged with Count 1A- Criminal Possession of Drugs with Intent to Distribute, A Felony and Count 1B- Criminal Possession of Dangerous Drugs, A Felony. The Defendant pleaded Not Guilty with the following dates set, Omnibus- Friday, May 8, 2026, Pre Trial June 5, 2026 and Jury Trial August 31, 2026. Mr. Chovanak was released from jail on Broadwater County charges, but is being held as there is a Warrant out of Yellowstone County.

DDC-26-13 David Wayne Klinkenborg- (Judge Abbott case) Bail Modification Hearing. The Defendant was charged with 1 Count Assault with a Weapon, A Felony, and 3 Counts of Criminal Endangerment. After discussion regarding the charges and other issues, the Court reduced the bond to $30,000 with all conditions to remain in effect.

DDC-25-17 Quinn Samuel Duvall- (Judge Abbott case) Change of Plea. The Defendant pleaded Guilty to Count 1- Amended Charge of Criminal Possession of Dangerous Drugs and with the assistance of his Attorney stated what he had done. The Court dismissed Count 2, and a Pre-Sentence Investigation was ordered. Sentencing is scheduled for May 22, 2026.

ADC-25-42 Christian Alexander Hospidales- Change of Plea. The Defendant pleaded Guilty to Count 1- Assault with a Weapon, Count 3, Criminal Mischief, and Count 4, Theft. With the assistance of his Attorney stated what he had done. The Court dismissed Count 2, and a Pre-Sentence Investigation was ordered, and Sentencing is scheduled for June 5, 2026.

ADC-24-44 Joseph Daniel Karr, Sentencing. The Court recommended that the Defendant go to the WATCH Program for 13 months with 4 years suspended. Pay all surcharges and court costs; the OPD fee was waived, pay a fine of $1000 with credit for time served. Count 2- sentenced to 6 months in Broadwater County Jail, all suspended with all conditions in place.
