Bulldogs Track: Snowflake Meet In Columbus

The Broadwater Bulldog track team traveled to Columbus for their opening meet on Saturday, March 28th. Many athletes shortened their day to return for BHS Prom, but with our large team, there was still lots of action.
Senior Kaitlyn Noyes swept all three jumps and finished runner-up in the 100-meter dash, while establishing state-qualifying marks in the long and high jump. Also punching her ticket to state was junior Kyla Meissner, finishing first in the 3200-meter run in a time of 11:10.88.
Senior Gavin Schmele finished on the top of the podium throwing the shot put and discus, while placing fourth with the javelin. Fellow seniors Marek Easter and Gavin Green won the javelin and 3200-meter run, respectively for the men. All those wins, plus lots of help from their teammates, gave the men 128 points to finish second, while ladies finished third with seventy-six points collectively.
