On Saturday, March 28th, Broadwater High School students geared up for the annual prom night. The theme was Rio - the decorations, music, and dresses did not disappoint. Prom night proved, yet again, to be not just a dance, but an experience that will not be forgotten. The junior class planned and decorated for the night with feathers, lights, and fabric hanging from the ceiling. More than 100 students attended the prom - more than there have been in years.

Girls and guys could not wait to show off their dresses and suits at the Grand March. Music from the movie, Rio, played as students walked to the middle of the gym in front of all the parents. Janeth Garcia, a junior at BHS, announced all the couples, duos, and trios as they walked onto the floor. She was very entertaining and enthusiastic while helping the crowd learn who everyone was.

After the Grand March, the prom prince, princess, queen, and king were announced. Each class picked the nominees, and then the whole student body voted for the winners. The nominees for prince were juniors, Bradan Martin, Jim Tew, Tavyn Anderson, and Mason Bauman. The princess nominees were juniors Jazel Ragen, Bryleigh Erickson, Campbell Kirksey, and Angel Sentinella. The prom prince and princess were Bradan Martin and Bryleigh Erickson. The nominees for prom king were Tannen Tuffelmire, Trace Giomi, Trenton Hoveland, and Noah Borror. The queen nominees were Aspen Slyker, Kenzie Knaub, Taylor Cartwright, and Kaitlyn Noyes. The winners were Trace Giomi and Kaitlyn Noyes.

Once Grand March and the announcement of royalty were over, the real dance began. This year, a DJ from Helena did an amazing job. The students danced until they were tired and their feet hurt. Overall, this was a very successful prom and many of the students who attended said that it was one of the best ones yet.
