2025 Projects Funded by the Broadwater County Trust Board
Author: Broadwater County Commissioners

Broadwater County Commissioners

This is part two of a four-part series of articles, highlighting the projects that the Broadwater County Trust Board has supported this past year.

In February of last year, the Trust Board approved a grant request in the amount of $47,689.30 submitted by the Broadwater Rodeo and Fair Association Inc. This grant was used to repair and improve the handicap grandstands access ramp and seating, provide a necessary upgrade to the sound system for the outdoor arena, purchase a push mower for the handicap park area, and a large mower to maintain the entire rodeo grounds. In addition, it was also used to purchase a shipping container to securely store the sponsor signs, mower, sound equipment, maintenance supplies, and other necessary items utilized by this group.

The Broadwater Rodeo and Fair Association works hard to create an updated, safe, and inclusive site for this community and the surrounding area, making it one of the best rodeo and fair facilities in the state. The Trust Board was pleased to partner with this group to support their mission.

The Broadwater County Trust Board (BCTB) was established to oversee and manage the Broadwater County Trust Fund created by the sale of cabin properties along the north end of Canyon Ferry reservoir in the 1990’s. The purpose of the fund is to support recreational projects in the county. The interest from the investment of the trust fund principle is accessed through a grant process, screened and managed by the Trust Board. Their recommendations for grant approval and payments are sent to the County Commissioners for action. All contracts and disbursement of funds are completed by the Broadwater County Commission.

The BTCB meets monthly to receive, discuss, approve, and manage grant applications, which satisfy the criteria set forth in the Trust’s by-laws. These criteria can be found on the Trust website at:

BCTB welcomes ideas and proposals from the public to improve Broadwater County recreational facilities and their use. The BCTB usually meets the second Tuesday of every month at 11:30 AM. Grant application forms can be found on the BCTB website at
