Coach's Thoughts:

The Lone Peak Bighorns gave us quite a bit of trouble with their 1-2-2 press. It’s a good thing that we started making a lot of shots. At one point, we were shooting a little over 60% from the three-point line. We saw some good things from most of the players at some point during the game, but especially Rylan Hoveland and Tavyn up top on the zone, combining for 9 steals. Tannen had a nice game with 19 points and 6 rebounds. Heston Vandenacre got into the action with three three-pointers and 5 rebounds. Tavyn Anderson and Trenton Hoveland combined for 9 assists as they made great passes. Our next games this week will be hosting the Jefferson Panthers on Thursday and then we will host the Ennis Mustangs on Saturday.

Coach's Thoughts:

We let the Tigers get an early jump on us with a Technical Foul and a three-point make to start the game. It turns out that the Referees don’t think you should dunk the ball during warmups! We were down 14 points at halftime and just couldn’t gain back the difference as Manhattan hit 12 of 27 from behind the arc during this game. There were a few bright spots in the game, however, as we saw a great shooting night for Tavyn Anderson with his 22 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Our guys really tried to get stops and get back on top with Trace’s 7 steals and 4 deflections. Tavyn and Tannen combined for 9 steals as well. We got outhustled more times than I care to mention, so that will be a thing to get better at: transition defense.
