Anne Frank
Ten years ago, we visited Auschwitz and many of the camps where the Jews were held and murdered. We walked through these camps; we read or heard the history of hate to certain people. Anne Frank's diary reflects the horrors of her time, capturing the essence of fear and persecution during the Holocaust, with her words resonating in today's discussions about human rights and immigration.
Context of the Quote:
Anne Frank, a Jewish girl who went into hiding during World War II to escape Nazi persecution, wrote in her diary about the "terrible things happening outside." On January 13, 1943, she described the fear and chaos surrounding her, noting how "poor helpless people are being dragged out of their homes," and families are torn apart. This entry poignantly illustrates the brutal realities faced by many during the Holocaust, where individuals were forcibly removed from their homes, often never to return.
In America, this will never happen.
In America, we can criticize government leaders without being arrested or the media being shut down.
Right??
