Douglas A. Roberts, age 73, of Radersburg, passed away December 28, 2025.
Douglas “Dougie’’ Arthur Roberts was born and raised in Montana with his 5 siblings. After serving in Vietnam, he worked hard and made a life for himself. After serving in Vietnam, he moved to Colorado Springs for a brief time. After that, he decided to head to Alaska, hitchhiking with nothing but a backpack, 44 and a dog. He made his way home for a time but also lived in Wyoming before settling in Washington State. There he met and built a life with his wife, Kym and their boys.
After retiring, he fulfilled his dream of coming back to his hometown and he spent most of his time working on his cabin, relaxing, drinking his beer and watching all the wildlife, where he found peace and solitude, choosing to live life his way.
He is preceded in death by his father, Arthur Roberts, his mother Ann Roberts, his siblings Dennis Roberts and Connie Roberts. He leaves behind his brothers Teddy Roberts (Cathy), Tim Roberts (Terri) and his sister Cindy Roberts (Max), his wife Kym Roberts and his three sons Ben Cole (Shaun), Jay Cole (Crystal) and Mike Cole (Brandy). He has nine grandchildren; Thalia, Shane, Curtis, Jacob, Samantha, Olivia, Mitchel, Neva, Sophia; and four great grandchildren; Chloe, Dylan, Blake, and Freya, as well as many family and loved ones.
He was loved by all and will be missed by many.
A Graveside Service with Military Honors is scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 17, 2026, at the Radersburg Cemetery in Raderburg, Montana.
