Bulldog Basketball Takes on Manhattan Tigers at Home

On January 9th, the Bulldogs basketball teams played the Manhattan Tigers at home for a conference matchup. The Townsend Boys’ Varsity team has a 2-1 conference record, and the girls’ varsity are also 2-1 in conference play so far.
The day started out with the girls’ Junior Varsity game. It was a close game, but the Bulldogs pulled out the win 43 to Manhattan's 35. Tevyn Newman helped the Bulldogs with 13 points, and Ella Toney scored 12.
The girls’ Varsity game was another success for the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs won the game 70 to 46. Kaitlyn Noyes led the Bulldogs with 37 points, and Emmalin Fischer had 14.
The Junior Varsity boys’ game ended with a loss for the Bulldogs. It was a close game, but the Bulldogs scored 46 to the Tigers' 54.
The Varsity boys’ game was close throughout the entire game. The Tigers ended up pulling away, winning the game 52 to 47. Tannen Tufffelmire led the Bulldogs with 20 points, and Treton Hoveland had 10. Bryce Lessley also contributed 8 points.
After this weekend, the girls’ Varsity team has a 3-1 conference record, with wins against Whitehall, Lone Peak, and Manhattan, and a loss against Three Forks. The boys’ Varsity team had a 2-2 record, with wins against Whitehall and Lone Peak, and losses against Manhattan and Three Forks. Next, the Bulldogs will travel to Ennis on January 16th to take on the Mustangs. On January 17th, they travel to Jefferson to play the Panthers. Both are conference matchups.
