Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest hosts public event on Jan. 11

The Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest invites the public to an open house on Jan. 11 from 1-4 p.m. at the Moose Creek Cabin near Helena with guided treks, hot beverages and a presentation for those looking to learn more about forest products and recreational opportunities on the forest.
The open house will feature an interpretive hike or snowshoeing trek, depending on conditions, and a short presentation with hot drinks, such as hot chocolate. Hikes will depart at 1 p.m., 2 p.m., and 3 p.m. from Moose Creek Cabin.
Directions to Moose Creek Cabin: From Helena, take U.S. Highway 12 West for 7 miles to Rimini County Road. From this intersection, take Rimini Road South approximately 4 miles to the cabin. Moose Creek Cabin is located on the east side of the road just past the entrance to Moose Creek Campground. Parking is available to the north of the cabin.
