FREE Thursday Dinners: Giving Back to the Community
Sarah Tallwhiteman
The SAL has taken a much deserved break from serving their free homemade meals this holiday season, however, their partnership with diners to give back to Broadwater community has not!
A few months ago, the Sons of the American Legion (SAL) were trying to find a way to bring the community of Broadwater County together to create a partnership that would benefit the people eating the meal and also support broader community services.
In November, they were able to donate $500 to the Broadwater Food Pantry. This month, SAL is excited to report that, because of the community’s generous donations at dinner, they were able to donate $250 to Broadwater Food Pantry and another $250 to Broadwater County Christmas Connection!
SAL would like to extend many Thank Yous to those who come in and show support. Giving back is their mission, and what better time to give than the winter holiday season?
The Sons of the American Legion would like to invite those who have not been able to participate to come on in for dinner! It’s a fun and delicious way to be a part of giving to the community of Broadwater County!
Have you invited friends and family to the free homemade meals? If not yet, your next chance is Thursday, January 8th!
Dinner begins at 5:00 pm at the American Legion, Post 42, 211 Broadway, Townsend.
See you there!
