Ah, T’was a Night to Remember!
Author: Bill Garwood

Ah, 'Twas a Night to Remember!

How many of you went out to the Christmas Stroll? Raise your hands! you still think I can see you? Silly people.

It was a wonderful stroll; the parade was great! I’m always impressed when the town school and local organizations put some serious effort into a project. That makes our local folks seem even happier.

I missed some of the food stops. Did the Lions Club have their Corn Dog wagon out? I was setting up the beginning of my section in the Bird’s Nest, as.. drum roll please: WELL? (Good help is so hard to find.) ok no drumroll. My bookstore Common Sense books will have a few spaces all filled up with books again In the Bird’s Nest. No full store, but I can promise you, the same great books as of days of yore! When were exactly the days of yore?

Until I was standing in the Bird’s Nest, working with Birdi and Gena, I have forgotten how much Fun it was being out with the public. Seeing many of my old customers! And of course, talking books!

I saw many people out and around, I think we had bigger crowds than several years ago. The Christmas Stroll makes everyone feel that wonderful seasonal happiness. (If only we had SNOW!) This has been the strangest year for weather, ever. As long as we have snow for Christmas! I’ll be happy. I came up to Montana for cold and snow and Ice, what is this sunny and warm weather?

As a note: The Bird’s nest has so many new and vintage things to buy. (I am NOT vintage, I’m just old!) for those who used to like to order books from me, contact me through the Bird’s Nest. I will be ordering book regularly again. I don’t have quite the room for all my categories like I used to, but I will have many.

Remember besides the gift giving season, this is a season of Great joy. Our savior was born in Bethlehem, NO not Pennsylvania! 'Tis time to celebrate the birth of the Son of God, keep it holy! Gifts are fine, but sometimes the greatest gifts are love and caring. Help those in need, and you will be giving in the name of the Father of us all! Enjoy this holiday season, because you know what’s coming!

This Christmas season, never be too old to not look up in the sky on Christmas eve. You never know, and the youngest folks still feel that sense of wonder. So, to all my people, be good, do good, go Bills (I couldn't resist that). This season let’s be the best versions of ourselves we can be!
