If you Listen in the Street, You Can Hear the Music Playing…Again!

Every so often in Townsend, you hear the music. Not Christmas carols, the music of the game: “Musical Chairs”. Only around here it’s stores and shops moving from one place to another. Our Broadway shops are moving again. Like adding shops that we don’t need more of. Yes, I know at one time we had 3 bookstores. Now? One, kind of coffee shop bookstore. And one that isn’t really open. My store (Remember that?), Common Sense Books: gone!

The store I set up was for everyone! I even ordered books, for those who wanted them. I “thought” I’d get to open again, not so. First it was Townsend needs another Bar & Gambling casino. Then it was: “Did you hear what he said?” It never happened!

Now the only place available is a bookstore, all well and good, but wait a minute. It’s going to be a massage parlor/cosmetics shop/facial salon. And we need another one of those? Ok. Now: Common Sense Books will have a 5 or 6 bookshelf area in Birdie's eclectic emporium! You know the place where tourists love to shop? Yes, I hope to be established before mid-holiday season. (I went from a dungeon to a huge, wonderful space, back to a tiny area!)

Wow and I didn’t even hear the music. That will be less stress, and yes, Judy, I will be ordering you books again! Stay tuned. By the way, Mr. B. I’m a bit worried about me having space in your head, like our President. Be offended, nothing happens. (I think I heard that somewhere.) Let It Go! That’s what makes good discussion in taverns!

I have talked to many tenders of bar over the years…(don’t go there) and ALL agree, they should be “licensed” psychiatrists. People come to them with their problems, they ply them with drinks and talk to them. True psychiatrists don’t give you a drink. I don’t think, many folks around here probably think I would know what the head shrinkers would give out, or not. (Nope, I am certifiably sane!) Honest! Go ask my Squirrels. Furry little heathens.

Be prepared for FUN! Everyone go out to the Christmas stroll, enjoy the smells of all the wonderful food, and see the sights. Watch the parade, go see Santa’s house on the corner of Broadway & Front streets. 'Tis a wonderful night of magic. Christmas music in the air, a time of enjoyment and seeing old friends!

This is Townsend, Montana at its finest. “Come one, come all” join our festive bacchanal. Food festivities, and FUN! Is the roasted nuts guy going to be there? Eat the vikings, the corn dogs, and cookies! I have to be kind of good, but not that good. I am going to have some Christmas cookies.

Stay well, all my people!
