Not My Circus, Not My Monkeys!
My articles are not editorials! They are only opinion pieces! Mr. B. likes to “editorialize”; that’s fine; let him. It just depends on where people GET their “facts” as to what they are!
My only “political opinion, is that if one political party would work with the other, other than “for years” trying to throw out a sitting President, maybe our country would thrive and prosper faster! End of my editorial.
My articles are to comment on local life and the beauty in and around our area. Plus, some of the strange and silliness in life in general bring amusement and make people smile. I am not the “get off my lawn" guy. At least I try not to be; I’m older, but I refuse to grow up completely! In my military career, I have seen far too much death & horror to keep on remarking about it. As a famous comedian recently said, “Ok, you’re offended, be offended. Nothing happens. Nobody cares”.
Now: on with the news; you know “Common Sense”. I would try to talk about the weather, if it would stay on one season! I realize this is November in Montana, I can even smell the pumpkin spice and pine trees. Not to mention the hunters who have been up in the woods, hunting; they all need baths!
I have already seen some folks with their Christmas trees up. Ok, but I am going to wait until after Thanksgiving, then all the front lawn decorations and seasonal goodies appear! Oh yes. Hmmm, maybe I’ll put a flannel shirt on Santa or one of the elves. Is there such a thing as an Elvis, elf? Asking for a friend.
'Tis the time of year to think about others, and to plan our getaway. I mean, our holiday gatherings. Our local “Christmas Stroll” is coming up soon! Be prepared to join us all downtown for the seasonal festivities. I love the cooler weather, not so much the way below zeros, but that even has its beauty. As long as we dress warmly and drink lots of cocoa.
Even though my doctor will dispute it, you NEED a few Christmas cookies. I’m just doing my part to support local vendors, not to eat badly. Honest!
Our food bank gets lots of donations; remember them and the Christmas Connection. Many folks are in need. Help out.
Miss Shirley of the “Creative Closet” and the girls always sew up pot holders & pillow cases. They also stuff the cases with pillows.
Prepare for the serious cold and warm your heart with cocoa & mulled wine. Let the holiday spirit warm your hearts. 'Tis the season, be of good cheer. Never mind the guy screaming at the children on his lawn. Happiest of holiday seasons.
Enjoy Thanksgiving first, then Christmas.
