1902

“Local News”

W.A. Sherlock of Crow Creek spent a few days recently in town.

J.R. Wine is in Radersburg these days in charge of A.M. D’Arcy & Company’s store.

Arthur Smith of Radersburg has a position in the Townsend House dining room at present.

Wm. Kitto of Radersburg has been making several trips to town this week for goods for the A.M. D’Arcy store. Mr. Kitto will probably be a regular employee of the new firm.

Townsend business houses are beginning to plan their Christmas display tables.

1941

“Radersburg News”

Mr. and Mrs. Ted Warren and Boyd Bomar visited with friends and relatives in Helena one day this week.

Alfred Doughty left Wednesday for Los Angeles with a carload of cattle.

Ladies Aid was entertained at the home of Mrs. John Sitton Thursday afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Leach and Mrs. James Good and daughter, Martha Mae, were visitors in Townsend one day this week.

Lewis Lippert of Townsend was transacting business in Radersburg Friday.

Walter McLaren of Cook City was in Radersburg looking after business matters at the Ohio mine.

Mr. and Mrs. James Sitton of Helena were guests at the home of his folks, Mr. and Mrs. John Sitton. Mrs. Sitton accompanied them to Helena Thursday for a few days visit with her sons.

1958

“Taste and Bake 4-H Club”

The Taste and Bake 4-H club held its November meeting at Susan Aldworth’s home. We elected the following officers: Laurie Lanning, president; Cynda Holland, Vice president; Susan Rains, secretary; Trudi Bucy, reporter.

Mrs. Aldworth showed us a movie on how to direct a meeting. We had two demonstrations by Trudy Bucy and Susan Aldworth. Susan Aldworth’s demonstration was on the three Cs. Trudi’s was on how to tell a fresh egg. Then we had refreshments and played hide the button. Trudy Bucy, Reporter

“Old Baldy 4-H Club”

The first meeting of the Old Baldy 4-H Club was held at the home of Sewell Marks. The club elected new officers as follows: Max Iverson, president; John Marks, vice president; Gerald Marks, secretary; Terry Gilstrap, recreation leader; Steven Kirksey, reporter.

The tentative program was made out and project cards were passed out. Bill Aldworth showed pictures. Thirteen members were enrolled. Lunch was served by Mrs. Marks.

The next meeting will be held at Bieber’s on Dec. 10th. – Steve Kirksey, reporter

“Blue Ribbon 4-H Club”

The Blue Ribbon 4-H Club held its second meeting on Nov. 13 at the Frank Flynn home.

We had an installation of officers ceremony. The main business of the meeting was working on the yearly program, which we almost finished.

At this meeting, two new members joined: Mike and George Harrigfeld. -Dick Berberet, reporter.

“Busy Fingers 4-H Club”

Some fourth-grade girls organized a 4-H club. We call it Busy Fingers. We are going to take the project “Clothes for Fun”.

We elected officers at our meeting November 14th. The officers are: Peggy Christie, president; Jeri Rosetta, Vice president; Linda Schwisow, secretary-treasurer; Mary Ellen McNulty, reporter. Our leaders are Mrs. T.P. McNulty and Mrs. J.G. Rains.

Cocoa and cookies were served by our hostess, Mrs. Ray Doig. -Mary McNulty, reporter

1975

“Toston-South of Townsend-Crow Creek-Radersburg” News

Mr. and Mrs. George Hensley have moved to the Summerfeldt Ranch on the Canyon Ferry Route.

Holly Hunsaker finished her advanced individual training (A.I.T.) in Fort Dix, New Jersey. She was home on leave. Last Friday she left for Fort Lewis, Washington.

Kathy Kimpton and Karen Foster attended the speech contest in Great Falls Friday and Saturday. They ended up in the semi-finals.

Those attending the Farm-City dinner at the Fireside Lounge Wednesday evening were Mr. and Mrs. Bob Davis, Mr. and Mrs. Don Shearer, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Plummer, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Berberet and Mr. and Mrs. Ken Kitto.

Brad and Chad Campbell were overnight guests of their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Hunsaker, this past weekend.

Last week, Rose Flynn and Lorena Flynn went to Deer Lodge to pick up Helen Maschera of Helena. They all joined Mr. and Mrs. Merle Avery in Helena and toured the museum.

Mr. and Mrs. Wally Rauser and family attended the tournament in Three Forks on Wednesday.
