BHS Volleyball Team Plays Joliet

On Thursday, October 2nd, the Bulldogs took on the Joliet J-Hawks for their homecoming matchup. Joliet is an out of conference match, but the Bulldogs have a 17-2 record so far this season, including tournaments.
The C squad game ended in a win for the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs C squad team is 5-1 in their season so far. Joliet won the first set 25-19, but the Bulldogs won the next sets 25-20, 15-11, and 15-8. Alex Bakken and Avery White led the team in aces with 5 each. Brinley Eggers tallied 2 blocks, leading the team and she had 8 kills, tying with Ella Toney to lead the team. McKenna Weaver had 5 kills, and Alex Bakken had 4. Avery White led the team with 6 assists and Ella Toney followed with 5. McKenna Weaver led the team with 7 digs, and Brinley Eggers had 3.
The Junior Varsity team has a record of 5-1 so far, adding another win after playing Joliet. The Bulldogs swept the J-Hawks 25-11, 25-17, and 15-9. Louie Parr led the team in aces with 4, followed by Tevyn Newman and Savannah Paulsen, who each had 3. As for blocks, Sophia Lamb dominated the net, getting 8 blocks. Louie Parr led the team in kills with 7, and Tevyn Newman followed with 5. Tevyn Newman led the team in assists with 9, followed by Louie Parr, who had 5. Kinsley Heggen led the team in digs with 9, and Violet Collins followed with 6.
The Varsity team added to their wins, sweeping Joliet 25-17, 25-22, and 25-26. Aspen Slyker had 4 aces, and Jazel Ragen had 3. Harper Wolfgram led the team with 3 blocks, followed by Kaitlyn Noyes and Holly Newman, who each had 2. Holly Newman led the team in assists and digs with 22 and 12. Emmalin Fischer followed with 6 digs. Kaitlyn Noyes led the team in kills with 9, and Jazel Ragen followed with 8.
Next week on Thursday, October 9th, the Bulldogs will travel to Jefferson to play the Panthers. After that, they travel to Three Forks to take on the Wolves on Saturday, October 11th.
On Saturday, October 4th, the Varsity and Junior Varsity teams travelled to Jefferson to play in the Jefferson tournament. In the morning, each team played every other team there in one set to 25. After that, the teams that scored the most points overall played for first and second, and the third and fourth most points scored played for third place. The Bulldogs ended up scoring the fourth most points in the morning and played Huntley Project to get third. The Junior Varsity team ended up taking first place, beating out Jefferson in the championship. The Varsity team ended up in third place.
The Varsity team played Florence first, losing 17-25. Next, the Bulldogs played Fairfield, and they won 25-17. After that, they lost to Jefferson 10-25, beat Shelby 25-1, and fell to Huntley Project 24-25. They beat Columbus 25-19 and Choteau 25-16, but fell short to Chester 20-25. In the match for third and fourth, the Bulldogs took on the Huntley Project Red Devils and came out on top. The set scores were 15-25, 25-16, and 15-13. After a long day and tough competition, the Bulldogs ended up in third place.
