BHS Homecoming Parade Was a Blast
MT43 News Staff Reporter
Broadwater High School homecoming began with a rousing parade down Broadway, complete with marching band, floats and candy.
Although it was the day-off Friday, the junior high kids gathered to cheer on Homecoming Royalty, football, volleyball and wrestling teams who rode Broadwater Rural Department fire trucks.
Mrs. Walton led the marching band. Many of the high school teachers were on hand to encourage bystanders to scream and holler, including Superintendent Mr. Racht, Principal Mrs. Heavrin, as well as teachers Levi VanZee and Gary Bauman. PTA members decorated their vehicle with blue and white and gave out stickers. PTA moms, Traci Maughn and Emily Christensen, rode(walked) the Bulldog balloon mascots. The preschool drill team had fun shaking their pompoms and doing their best to follow their leader.
Boardgame themes of class floats encouraged the Bulldogs to beat the Jefferson Panthers at the Homecoming game Friday night. The sophomore class used Candyland as a theme; Juniors used Battleship, Freshmen used the game Sorry and Seniors’ float theme was Jumanji.
