Bulldog Football to Play Jefferson During Homecoming

On Friday, September 26th, the Townsend Bulldogs Varsity Football team travelled to Three Forks to take on the Wolves. The Bulldogs are 3-0 in their season so far, with one conference win against Big Timber last week. The Wolves are 1-1 in the conference, coming off a loss to the Manhattan Tigers last week.
In the first quarter, the Bulldogs struggled to get on the board. The Wolves scored one touchdown, making the score 0-7 going into the second quarter.
Early in the second quarter, the Wolves scored another rushing touchdown, raising their lead to 14. The Bulldogs struggled to score offensively, but Tavyn Anderson had an interception on defense to stop one of the Wolves' possessions. The Wolves put up two more touchdowns before the half, making the score 0-27 at the half.
At the start of the third quarter, Trenton Hoveland punted, and Colt Barnard recovered the Wolves’ fumble, giving the Bulldogs good field position. Tavyn Anderson scored a 19-yard touchdown to finally get the Bulldogs on the board. Three Forks added a rushing touchdown and had a two-point conversion to make the score 7-35.
Freshman Heston Vandenacre played well, replacing Tavyn Anderson briefly for the Bulldogs. After Anderson came back in, the Bulldogs scored on a pass to Logan Johnson. The third quarter ended with the Wolves up 14-35.
The fourth quarter started with a Three Forks touchdown, extending their lead to 41-14. After that, Tavyn Anderson threw a touchdown pass to Bryce Lessley. The Bulldogs tried for a two-point conversion, but failed, making the score 41-20. Marek Easter had a sack on the Three Forks quarterback. Tanner Bird then blocked the Wolves' punt to down the Bulldogs on the one-yard line. Tavyn Anderson ran the ball in for a touchdown. The Bulldogs tried for another two-point conversion, but it was unsuccessful. The game finished with a Wolves win 41-26.
The Bulldogs will play Jefferson on Friday, October 3rd. The Bulldogs will play at home at 7 pm. It is the Bulldogs' homecoming game during which Homecoming Royalty will be crowned.
