Lady Volleyball Teams Dominate In Tournament Contests

On Tuesday, September 16th, the Lady Bulldogs volleyball team travelled to Whitehall to play the Lady Trojans. The Trojans are 1-1 in conference play so far and the Lady Bulldogs are 3-0.

The games started with the C squad. The Bulldogs beat the Whitehall Trojans 25-21, 25-11, and 15-9. Brinley Eggers led the team with 8 aces, and Kymber McCartney and Avery White each had 4. Ella Toney had 3 kills and Avery White, Brinley Eggers, and Molly Hall each had 2.

The Junior Varsity team came out with another win. The scores of the sets were 25-12, 25-8, 15-8. Janeth Garcia led from the serving line with 6 aces, followed by Violet Collins with 5 and Savannah Paulsen who had 4. Sophi Lamb led the Bulldogs with 3 blocks and Savannah made one. Sophia Lamb also led the team in kills, tallying 8. Tevyn Newman followed with 3. Kinsley Heggen led the team with 3 digs.

The Varsity team swept Whitehall in three sets- 25-6, 25-20 and 25-10. The Bulldogs were led by Kaitlyn Noyes with 10 kills, followed by Holly Newman with 7 kills and Bryleigh Erickson with 6. Kaitlyn Noyes also tallied 5 aces and 6 assists. Bryleigh Erickson had 13 assists and Holly Newman had 5. Aspen Slyker led the team with 11 digs, followed by Holly Newman who had 8. Emmalin Fischer had 6.

After a dominant sweep over the Whitehall Trojans, the Lady Bulldogs volleyball team went to Ennis September 18 to play the Mustangs. The Mustangs had a 2-1 record, while the Bulldogs proved to be 3-0 in conference play.

The C Squad game ended in a Bulldog win 25-14, 18-25, 15-8, and 15-11. Kymber McCartney led the Bulldogs in aces with 6, followed by Ella Toney with 5, and Abby Allen and Brinley Eggers had 3. Mckenna Weaver had one block, and Molly Hall led the team with 4 kills. Abby Allen had 3 kills, and Brinley Eggers had 2. Avery White tallied 5 assists, followed by Ella Toney who had 4, and Haedyn Poe had 2. Avery White had 6 digs, and Shannon Byrne, Brinley Eggers, and Kymber McCartney had 2 digs each.

The Junior Varsity team also showed the mustangs up, winning 25-20, 25-26, and 25-20. Violet Collins and Louie Parr led the team in aces with 3, and Savanah Paulsen had 2. Sophia Lamb tallied 3 blocks and Savannah Paulsen had 1. Tevyn Newman led the team in assists with 15 and Grace Ragen followed with 8. Grace Ragen also had 6 digs, leading the team. Kinsley Heggen followed with 4, and Savannah Paulsen, Chloe Flynn, Janeth Garcia, and Violet Collins each had 3 digs. As far as kills, Sophia Lamb led the team with 6, Tevyn Newman and Ava Tiffany followed with 4 each, and Savannah Paulsen had 3.

The Varsity game ended in an exciting sweep by the Bulldogs, ending 25-20, 25-26, and 25-20. Emmalin Fischer, Kaitlyn Noyes, and Aspen Slyker each led the team with 1 ace. As for blocks, Kaitlyn Noyes, Jazel Ragen, Bryleigh Erickson and Harper Wolfgram each had 1. Bryleigh Erickson led the team in assists, tallying 18, and Holly Newman followed with 12. Holly Newman and Aspen Slyker both had 12 digs, Bryleigh Erickson had 11, and Emmalin Fischer had 10. Kaitlyn Noyes led the team with 12 kills, followed by Holly Newman who had 8 and Aspen Slyker had 7.

On September 20th, the Bulldogs Varsity team headed to Huntley Project to play in their tournament. They played more teams that they will see later in the season in hoping to challenge them and prepare themselves for tougher matches.

The team began the morning with pool play matches. They played two sets to 20 in pool play. They played Poplar and won 20-4 and 20-11. Then they beat Lame Deer 20-3 and 20-4. In a third match they took on Colstrip in a tougher match and lost one set 17-20 and won the other 20-16. To end pool play, the Bulldogs played Shepherd and won one set 20-10 and lost the other 7-20. This was enough to seed the Bulldogs into the gold bracket for the afternoon play.

To advance in the gold bracket, the Bulldogs beat Columbus 25-23 and 25-9. Aspen Slyker led the team with 5 aces against the Cougars. Emmalin Fischer and Jazel Ragen followed with one ace each. Kaitlyn Noyes had 6 kills and Aspen Slyker had 4. Leading the team, Aspen Slyker and Holly Newman had 8 digs, followed by Jazel Ragen with 7 and Kaitlyn Noyes with 4.

Next, the Bulldogs took on the Baker Spartans. They won the match, outscoring the Spartans 25-22 and 25-22 to advance to the championship. In a team effort, Kaitlyn Noyes, Holly Newman, Bryleigh Erickson, Emmalin Fsicher, and Aspen Slyker each had one ace. Kaitlyn Noyes had 9 kills, Aspen Slyker had 7, and Holly Newman had 5. Bryleigh Erickson led the team with 15 assists, and Holly Newman had 9. Holly Newman led the team in digs with 11, and Emmalin Fischer had 6.

In the championship, the Bulldogs fell short to Shepherd, losing the match 17-25 and 15-25. Kaitlyn Noyes and Bryleigh Erickson led the team in kills with 6 each, and Holly Newman had 4. Holly Newman led the team with 12 assists and Bryleigh Erickson had 5. Emmalin Fischer tallied 11 digs, and Holly Newman and Aspen Slyker each had 8.

The Lady Bulldogs travel to Gardiner on September 26th and to Manhattan on September 27th. The Bulldogs hope to stay undefeated in conference play against the 0-4 Manhattan Tigers.
