Steven Albert Kimpton, 73, of Toston, Montana, passed away peacefully on his birthday, Friday, September 12, 2025, at his home. His passing was gentle, surrounded by the loving presence of his family and supported by a compassionate hospice team.
Steve was born on September 12, 1952, to Albert and Lois Kimpton of Toston, where he lived his entire life. Deeply rooted in this community for all of his 73 years, Steve carried forward the legacy of several generations of the Kimpton family in Broadwater County.
He is survived by his children: Chad (Cheryl) Kimpton of Missoula; Jennifer (Jeremy) Bryant of Townsend; Travis (Rosemary) Kimpton of Kalispell; and Rachel (Rob) Ott of Alaska. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as his brothers, Dave (Mary) Kimpton and Cliff Kimpton; his sister, Zona Hale; and several nieces and nephews.
Steve was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kathy Kimpton; his father, Albert Kimpton; and his mother, Lois Kimpton.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held in the spring of 2026. Details will be announced at a later date so that all who knew and loved Steve may gather to honor his memory and share stories of his life.
