MT43 News Staff Reporter

Dr. Paul Engstrom has been named medical director of Billings Clinic Broadwater, according to CEO Justin Tiffany. Engstrom, who joined the clinic last year, has a strong passion for rural healthcare. He and his wife, Vanessa, live here and are active in the Townsend community. Engstrom, from Reserve, Montana in Sheridan County, attended medical school in Seattle and finished his residency in Grand Junction, Colorado.

Engstrom’s appointment follows on the upcoming changes to its medical team with the planned departure of two physicians later this year. Dr. Phillip Hess will transition away from clinical practice at the end of August. Dr. Holly Hoffman will be leaving by the end of the year. Dr. Hess has served as medical director for the past four years. Dr. Hoffman has served the community for five years and had built a personal connection with patients. According to letters sent to patients, Dr. Hoffman will be traveling to Australia with her husband, who will be on a sabbatical there. Dr. Hess will be working in Canada.

Tiffany pointed out that to ensure continuity of care, the clinic is actively recruiting a full-time physician with support of Billings Clinic. Additional plans are also underway to maintain and enhance patient access close to home during this transition period.
