On Target, with the Broadwater County Rod and Gun Club
John Pavao
BCRGC Communication/Public Relations Officer
Welcome to On Target, a new weekly column by the Broadwater County Rod and Gun Club (BRGC).
My name is John Pavao, and I’m honored to serve as the newly-appointed Communications and Public Relations (PR) Officer for the BRGC. I am an avid outdoorsman and shooter myself, and I am excited to bring this new weekly column to Broadwater County residents and beyond.
I have served as a board member with the rod and gun club for four years, and I am a proud to serve as a project leader for the Broadwater County 4-H .22 rifle project. I am a retired U.S. Air Force veteran with 23 years of active duty service, and, most recently, as of July 1, 2025, a retired state employee with 17 years of service with the State Human Resources Division. I love to serve my community, and this weekly article will allow me to do just that.
Starting with next week’s column, we will highlight past and future BRGC events, provide club updates, share important information about BRGC, recognize valuable BRGC contributors and volunteers, and, who knows, maybe even share helpful tips from local shooting experts!
The BRGC board can’t overemphasize how much we appreciate the outstanding support we receive from Broadwater County residents and our many members and supporters from outside the county.
Until next week, stay on target and stay safe, whether you’re shooting your favorite firearm, drawing back that bow in anticipation of our upcoming archery season, or pitching jigs or cranks on the lake!
