As a family, we try to get together every two or three years because we all live so far apart. In 2017, we decided to go to Poland and Germany, where our ancestors had come from. We took a World War II tour. It was our 60th anniversary. It was very educational.
Until you see the concentration camps, and hear the history, the pictures of the people that were in there, you would not understand how this ever came about. We asked our guide how Hitler got into power. You must have known that after World War I ended that Germany had to repay for the damage that they had done, the strain caused by their reparations, led to hyperinflation, unemployment, and widespread poverty.
So the people were getting upset and unhappy. It was an opportune time for Hitler. He promised jobs and reconstruction. He would make Germany great again. There was a fire at the center of the government, started by the Nazis, and it was blamed on the Communists, and then it caused a suspension of civil liberties and led to the rest of the thousands of communists.
They dismantled democratic institutions, banned opposition parties, suppressed trade unions, and purged rivals in their own party. Solidifying his dictatorial rule, portraying himself as a German savior. Under Hitler, a larger portion of the German population was stripped of the right to vote and participate in political life.
The jews, opponents of the Nazis party, anyone who was with another party, such as Democrats or the Communists, could no longer participate in the election process. Romani people were part of it. Anyone who was not white, who was non- Arian, the Nazi regime made a nation where voting rights were constricted, commonly racially restricted to those considered racially pure and supported by Nazi and ideology.
Noteworthy! Right.
Is it possible for this to occur here?
