The Historic Canton Church ends our Summer Schedule of Events on August 29 at 5:00 pm, featuring Kamara Wilbur and Friends. As always, our events are free – although we do accept donations!

Kamara Wilbur founded “Kamara & Friends” to gather like-minded musicians in sharing a variety of music with the surrounding community. The group focuses on gatherings in rural and underserved populations throughout Montana.

For this performance, she is joined by Sam Ramsey and her father, Richard Wilbur, performing classical, folk, fiddle, and original numbers from their recent tour.

Kamara is currently studying music and psychology at the University of Montana. While her primary instrument is the violin, she also includes the piano and voice as part of her repertoire.

Sam enjoys composing music and playing the piano, guitar, and ukulele. He will be sharing a few of his original piano compositions at the concert.

Richard plays the organ, piano, and various brass instruments. In Bozeman, he is the organist for First Lutheran and sings with the Bozeman Symphonic Choir.

The Historic Canton Church was built in 1875-1876 and is one of the few surviving buildings from the town of Canton, which was flooded during the creation of Canyon Ferry Lake. All our events begin at 5:00 pm, but the Canton Church will be open to visitors from 3:00-5:00 pm before events.

Visit our website at WWW.Canton-Church.org for more information about our events and about the Historic Canton Church and the Town of Canton.
