1902

“Local News”

Don’t forget the dance at Auditorium tonight.

A calling party consisting of Mrs. Mary Ballard, Mrs. Dr. Belcher, Mrs. Nannie Kanouse, Mrs. Mamie Fairchild, Miss Cora Averill, with J.W. Siebold as driver, called on several Deep Creek families Tuesday.

Hiram Stewart came down from Hassel Thursday morning and went into Helena to consult Dr. Tracy concerning a fractured knee he has been nursing for the past eight months.

G.C. McFadden has moved into his new house and is now enjoying the comforts of a modern home. H.E. Walters has finished painting the same and in its lavender brown, trimmed in pure white with sash in black it looks very neat.

Geo. Byrne, who has been in the west for several months (including nearly all large places), returned home on the 3rd. He speaks very favorably of Seattle as a business center and says that Salt Lake is the gem of the Rockies, everything considered.

1941

“Winston News”

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Diehl and sons and Mrs. Agnes Whitehead returned from Broadus Monday.

Mr. and Mrs. Mike Muffley, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lanning and Mr. Robert Myles spent the 4th fishing at Camas Creek near White Sulphur Springs.

Mr. and Mrs. Roy Campbell and son spent July 4th on Duck Creek.

“Crow Creek News”

Mr. and Mrs. Pete Mosier, Frank Mosier and two nephews of Mr. Mosier, who are visiting here from the east, drove to Livingston to spend the 4th of July.

Most of the residents of our valley spent the 4th of July quietly at home.

Mr. Spike Hensley, who is in army duty in Spokane, is spending a few days visiting his mother, Mrs. A.D. Hensley and brothers and sisters of our valley.

Mr. Joe Hensley attended the rodeo in Livingston the 4th of July.

Mrs. Dora Richardsonof Tacoma is visiting Mrs. Phillip Mockel for a few days.

1958

“Local News”

July 5th guests in the Kenneth Biggs home were Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Tubbs of Whitehall and J.P. Swarts of Lombard.

Mrs. Keith Valentine and children returned home Tuesday afternoon from a months visit with relatives and friends in Iowa and Nebraska.

Mrs. Don Williams and children, Teri Lynn, Keith, and Wendie visited from Saturday until Monday of this week with Mrs. Williams’ sister, Mrs. Jack Stallings and family in Dillon.

The Bud Davis family motored over to Seeley Lake Sunday to take Stephanie and Susan Rains to Girls’ Camp.

Mr. and Mrs. George Lots and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Jenkins spent the 4th of July weekend at Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

Geo. Gabisch, Jr. and family spent the past weekend vacationing in Glacier Park. They were joined in the trip by his brother, Mike Gabisch of Great Falls.

1975

“East of Townsend” News

Cindy Kirksey of Bozeman spent a couple of days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Kirksey. Mrs. Kirksey and Mrs. Kent Kirksey and Shelby drove her back to Bozeman on Wednesday.

Doug Diehl spent the weekend from Helena with his parents.
