Saturday night was a beautiful night to sit and listen to music on the Porch at the Canyon Ferry KOA Campground. A rain cloud blew over just before 8:00, but it cleared off just in time for the MoonShine band to take the “Porch”.
The MoonShine Band is a three-piece band from Helena that is made up of a guitar player/vocalist, a flute player and a drummer. They played a wide variety of country and bluegrass music. They played songs from artists like Darius Rucker, George Strait, Johnny Cash, & Elvis and rocked the house with numbers like Poncho & Lefty, Sweet Home Alabama and Ghost Riders in the Sky. They will be back later this summer, so you will have a chance to hear them again.
Debbie & Justin Blagg, the owners at Canyon Ferry KOA, said they are trying to provide interesting community gathering activities. There is no charge to watch the entertainment on “the Porch” at the KOA. They have several evenings planned this summer with music by local bands. The next “Music on the Porch” event will be July 4th and 5th from 8:00 PM – 10:00 PM.
Bring a chair and enjoy the music. Snacks, beverages and ice cream are available at the KOA Deli and Store.
Also, did you know that the KOA has a new children’s play area? You are invited to bring the kids and come play on the new playground equipment anytime. The equipment was provided through donation and Debbie & Justin would like to share it with the community.
