New Middle School Principal Hired for Next School Year

Townsend School District has hired Mark Irvin to fill the Middle School Principal position. The slot was formerly held by Brad Racht, who has been appointed Superintendent.
Irvin has 27 years of experience working as a teacher, principal and activities director. He served as activities director for Havre, Montana, high school for ten years. His previous teaching experience was in Box Elder, Montana. Raised in Miles City, Irvin and his family have lived in Havre for 30 years.
In a statement, Irvin said he is an avid sports fan, which he has put to work coaching football, basketball and baseball at many levels.
His family includes his life partner Trish and three children. Irvin said, “The relationship between life lessons and responsibilities learned from being part of a school community stays with students their entire lives. I look forward to meeting all my new students, the staff and the people of Townsend in the near future.”
