On Saturday, June 7, a memorial tree was planted for Amanada Harrigfeld on the southwest corner of the campus of Townsend School District #1. The Japanese tree lilac was planted by family members in her memory at the school as a graduate of the Broadwater County High School class of 2008.
Amanda Harrigfeld left this earth in August 2024, leaving behind both parents, three siblings, and eight nieces and nephews. Amanda was a friend to everyone she met; no one was a stranger for long. She had a deep love for the MSU Bobcats and the Kansas City Chiefs. She participated in Special Olympics for over 15 years. She is missed every day by her family and friends.
The tree was planted with the help of the Townsend Tree Board. This is the fifth tree planted on the school campus this year with the help of a Carbon Reduction Fund grant from Graymont to help replace the many trees lost to new school construction. Many of the trees lost were memorial trees.
The Graymont grant is also being used to plant other trees across the community in 2025. The Tree Board thanks Graymont for its generous contribution, helping get trees planted.
