Drivers, too Fast and Insane!

On our main Highway, 287/12, we have people who are just TOO important for the rest of us to deal with. The road to Helena is ONLY 32 miles, it doesn’t take long to travel it. WHY do people think they have to be there RIGHT NOW!

I used to be the one who painted all the white crosses alongside the highway, I could not believe how many there are. There have been times I have been in a hurry to get to a medical appointment, what did I do? (I’m glad you asked.) I got up early or left early. That was simple, eh?

I know IF the weather is bad, I always give myself extra time. We have a saying in the Military (You knew this was coming didn’t you) it says: “If you are 15 minutes early, you are 15 minutes late.” Meaning don’t be a dunce, leave early enough to protect yourself in ANY situation! Bad weather, automobile is not running right, you don’t feel well.

I was in a motor vehicle class one time; the instructor told us. “If ALL of these conditions are happening at once, get out of the car and run screaming into the farmer’s field by the highway. Because you ARE going to have an accident! Quite literally words to LIVE by.

The Bozos that go screaming past you on the road, most all the time you see at the next stop light. They ended up about 3 minutes faster than you. Karma is a bitch, and she has puppies. The most dangerous drivers are these mental midgets who not only speed, but they zoom in and out of traffic like they actually are on a racetrack. Folks, we are all driving a few TONS of metal, and glass. This is NOT a video game, everyone does NOT pick themselves up after a crash! You don’t generate new lives, after the cars stop. Do I REALLY have to mention texting and driving? IT WILL KILL YOU, AND OTHERS!

People around here are “pretty much” level-headed, however I have seen a few cheese brains speeding on the roads IN Townsend, I have seen more than I care to see VERY close calls with Children in the roads. KNOCK IT OFF! It could be YOUR child.

Many years ago, I used to be on call 24 hours a day for a week. This was my duty, I was the “DUTY PHOTOGRAPHER.” My job on these weeks was to be there IF the Police, Fire Dept. EMTs needed to document any accident, murder, suicide, I had to be on hand to photograph bodies and or property damage to give to the Police for Crime scene investigations. Looking at these scenes is one thing, having to focus on the carnage to get a clear photo is quite another.

Be careful!! Don’t end up on somebody’s report.
