Ronald Irvin Mosness was born November 25, 1947, in Livingston, Montana, to Rudolf and Alice (Clouse) Mosness.

Ron and Linda, with their 5 children, lived in Bozeman for 21 years, where they spent time camping, hunting, fishing, and with resounding enthusiasm enjoyed many Bobcat football and basketball games. Ron also loved attending his children’s many different sporting events and school activities: football, basketball, baseball, bowling, soccer, tennis, horseshoe pitching, wrestling, band, and piano.

After Ron’s retirement in 2003, they moved to Helena, where Ron designed, and with help from their four sons at various times, built their dream home near Canyon Ferry Lake, where they lived for 16 years. In 2019, they moved to Townsend, where they still enjoyed a beautiful view of Canyon Ferry Lake.

Ron was diagnosed with progressive dementia, and on April 25th, he suffered a hemorrhagic stroke. He passed away 11 days later.

Ron is survived by Linda, his wife of 47 years; his 5 children & 8 grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Ray (Cindy); his sister, Pam (Steve); his mother-in-law, Roberta; his sisters-in-law, Sandy, Susan, Sally, JoLynn, their families, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceding Ron in death were his parents, his brother, Randy, and his brother-in-law, Jim.

His service will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 11:00, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Helena. Memorials may be sent to St. Jude’s Hospital or Shriners Hospital.
