Mockel Precast and Excavating of East Helena and Helena Sand and Gravel were the successful bidders for Townsend’s Spring Street work, which began May 5. Townsend’s City Council approved the bids at the April 15 regular meeting.
Mockel was the low bidder at $198,315 for excavation and paving work around the community, including the removal of blowouts on North Oak Street and South Oak Street. Helena Sand and Gravel submitted the sole bid of $88,000.25 for chip sealing city streets.
